If rental income is less than the allowable expenditure, a loss arises.
(1) Current year’s profit and losses are net off
Net profit: calculate tax
Net loss: taxable income — nil
(2) Carried forward indefinitely — first available future property business profits
Furnished holiday letting loss, this can only be carried forward against future furnished holiday letting profits, it cannot be relieved against other property income.
