Prepare written reports:

The purpose of a report must be clear. Reports are usually intended to initiate a decision or action.

Reports can be with extensive complex document, but a single page may be sufficient in many contexts.

Routine reports are produced at regular intervals (e.g. budgetary control report). Special report may be prepared for “one-off” planning and decision making purposes.

If reports is prepared for control action, it should describe what has happened in the past. If it is for planning decision, it should advice on a certain course of action including a recommendation about what decision should be taken.

Reports should be produced on time and easy to understand.
